A fun-filled production by primary school pupils in Sutton entertained parents, staff and children at Glusburn Institute.

‘Porridge’ was successfully staged by year three and four pupils from Sutton CP School.

Headteacher, Fiona Beetles, said “packed audiences” at the institute enjoyed a tale of mystery, mayhem and breakfast cereal.

The performance saw private detective Jack Spratt set out to solve a caseload of baffling mysteries, including working out who had stolen Ma Daisy Hubbard’s recipe book, who had kidnapped MariGrace the cow, and whether Papa Ewan Bear was hiding a dirty secret behind his porridge empire.

A school spokesman said: “This was another epic production by our very own performance mastermind, Christa Baldwin, who was ably supported by her trusty team of staff and volunteers.

“We want to thank everyone involved – they were all marvellous.”
