Vulnerable and underprivileged children across Bradford district were given some Easter cheer thanks to the efforts of pupils from Oxenhope Primary School.

Youngsters collected 128 Easter eggs earlier this month as part of the Junior Chamber International (JCI) Easter egg appeal.

This aimed to provide more than 1,000 Easter eggs for deprived children across Keighley and Bradford.

An Oxenhope Primary spokesman said: “JCI Brad-ford has chosen the Easter egg project because they believe thousands of children in the district and surrounding areas are suffering poverty and ill health.

“While many of us exchange Easter eggs with friends and family without a second thought, they hoped they could ask as many people as possible to share just one egg with a child less fortunate.

“With support from projects like this, those families can be helped.”
