High Adventure outdoor centre in Cowling hosted the inter-school climbing competition for primary schools.
Pupils at Carleton Endowed CE School climbed their way to victory, and finalists included last year’s winners, Cowling, as well as St Stephen’s from Skipton. Each team consisted of six members, who had to scale the indoor climbing wall three times on different routes, being scored out of ten for each ascent. It was a close final with Carleton winning by just six points. The competition is in its second year and is run by High Adventure.
In total, 19 teams entered the 2014 competition from ten schools, including Sutton-in-Craven, Lothersdale, Eastburn, Kildwick, Oakworth, Lees and Haworth.
