YOUNGSTERS at a Keighley school were thrilled to receive a visit from members of the Keighley and District Model Aircraft Club.
The club had been invited in to introduce the topic of aeroplanes to reception pupils at Long Lee Primary School.
A spokesman for Long Lee said: "The club members gave a talk about the different variety of flying crafts, helped the children make paper and polystyrene aeroplanes, and used a model flight simulator."
Foundation stage leader Vicky Taylor said: “In reception we plan activities based on the children’s interests and planes have already been very popular this term.
“We were delighted when Peter and his team from the club said they would spend the morning with us.
"All the children were very engaged with the various activities and this will hopefully engage the children’s further learning as part of our topic work.
"The club brought along a little helicopter for indoor flying and a remote control aeroplane which they flew outside.
"They were very good at explaining things at a child's level, they did really well. I think this must have been one of the youngest age groups they've ever done a demonstration for."
