DOZENS of children have visited a Keighley restaurant to learn more about both food and future life opportunities.

Two year two classes from St Andrew's Primary School visited the Balti House Restaurant, in Albert Street.

The 60 pupils had a chance to speak to the chef, and were given a tour of the kitchens. They also took part in a competition to identify different types of food, with the winner receiving a restaurant voucher as a prize.

Key stage one leader Sarah Scott said: "As a school we're committed to showing the pupils real life possibilities.

"They have done a really engaging eight-week project on food, and this was a lovely way to end that.

"We contacted the Balti House because we know that they want to work with the community. They kindly allowed us to visit them.

"We're now writing thank you letters back to the Balti House, and the pupils are playing the role of journalists by doing articles about their visit."
