PARKWOOD Primary School pupils have held a tea party with the help of Baker Mike.

Mike Armstrong, the master baker at Sainsbury’s in Keighley, visited the school to support year five students’ baking studies.

Class teacher Andrew Bray said Mike’s visit at the start of the project inspired the children.

He said: “Some of the children have been doing that their own baking at home on top of what we have been doing in school.”

“Children have learnt about seasonality of food, how to bake from various recipes, healthy eating, and foods from around the world.”

The project culminated in a tea party with invited guest adults, including members of the school's governing body.

Mr Gray added: “Everyone had a fantastic time and the children were able to explain to the guests what they had learnt over the half term.”
