STAFF, students and parents in Keighley are banding together to help secure an Ecoschools award for their own school.
Holy Family Catholic School is working to achieve a silver award as part of this international scheme by July of next year.
Assistant head teacher Eileen Llewellyn said: "This is an environmental project, for which we have established a committee of governors, parents, staff and students.
"We're initially focusing on four areas – energy, litter, biodiversity and the combined area of waste and recycling.
"We have already begun to move forward in some of these areas, and we're encouraging all parents and the wider community to send in unwanted clothes, belts and bags. We will be collecting until the deadline of December 17."
The school will be looking to develop a nature area within its grounds, reduce litter, cut down on energy bills and increase recycling of paper, food and plastics.
