PUPILS who worked hard on applying science to the growing of crops in the school garden have been able to taste the fruits – and vegetables – of their labours.
Children in Willow class at Sutton C of E Primary School grew courgettes, potatoes, runner and green beans and onions, then washed, cut and prepared them to make a delicious, tasty and healthy soup.
Teacher Miss Paula Margetson said: "The project was part of science learning to show where food comes from and the processes it goes through before it's on their plates.
"They loved growing the vegetables and the soup was lovely – it must have been good because several pupils said it was even better than pizza!"
