KEIGHLEY school pupils had a chance to meet the town's MP when he dropped in for their school's Stop the Clock day.
Kris Hopkins visited Oakbank School, where he was himself a pupil, as part of a day based around the theme: Aspirations.
He spoke to students about his life before he entered Parliament, and his experiences since he was elected in 2010.
Mr Hopkins said: “It is always a great thrill to go back to my old school. But a visit there never fails to remind me that I left without any qualifications and had to return to education in order to get on.
"My message to the pupils was that it is much better to apply yourself now and get good results first time around. I was deeply impressed by the thoughtful questions put to me and by the standard of behaviour at Oakbank, which is a great credit to the leadership at the school and the attitude of the children themselves.
"I look forward to welcoming a group from the school to Westminster in the near future.”
