LONG Lee Primary School pupils became games designers.
Children were invited to make a game to help develop their skills in mathematics. The aim was to promote enthusiasm and achievement in the subject.
Families produced a range of amazing creations during the Christmas holidays, which were returned to school, shared and played in the classroom.
The competition was won by Hamza Mahmood in Year 2 for Key Stage 1, and Olivia Marshall in Year 4 for Key Stage 2.
Rebecca King, the school’s mathematics subject leader, said: ‘We are trying really hard to raise our children’s enthusiasm and standards in mathematics.
“In September, we began a new system, which allows all our children 15 minutes per day to improve their instant recall facts, such as times tables. The scheme is proving to be a great success.”
