LONG Lee Primary School pupils proved they have an appetite for learning.
Year-four youngsters explored the science behind melt in the middle chocolate puddings.
Marks & Spencer helped host the special activity day.
The children also learned how to create a perfect pudding to tempt customers and tested desserts on a range of criteria, including taste and texture.
"This was great fun for the children and a fantastic opportunity to learn science in a practical and meaningful way," said year-four teacher Heather Bottomley.
"They had a brilliant time exploring solids and liquids and even became food scientists when they explored the structure of the molecules in the ingredients!"
