EASTWOOD Primary School children have spent a week with pupils from a very different school.
The Keighley youngsters teamed up with children from the Yorkshire Dales village of Threshfield for their annual residential trip.
The Eastwood pupils, who mostly live in Lawkholme and Showfield, joined the country children at Buckden House, also in the Dales.
Sue Payne, head of Threshfield Primary School, said her school had only 59 children and their 340-year-old building was surrounded by rolling hills and sheep.
She said: “Children from both schools got together for an exciting schedule of caving, gill scrambling, teambuilding and adventurous challenges.
“They made new friends and learned about their different cultural backgrounds. It was great fun for all of them.”
Buckden House has for the past 30 years run adventure activities for schools and youth groups aimed at improving social, personal, and educational development.
The centre’s activities include abseiling, actually, bushcraft, high ropes, improvised raft building, orienteering and rock climbing.
