PRIMARY school pupils in Haworth have enjoyed an exuberant musical interlude.

The children at Haworth Primary welcomed a visit by members of Earl Thomas and the Royal Guard – a blues band visiting the Keighley area as part of a wider tour which also includes trips to Slovakia and Austria.

The band dropped into the school on April 24 to meet and play for key stage two children, as part of the eighth annual blues concert for Haworth Primary. This was organised by the local Bronte Blues Club, as part of their Blues in Schools programme.

A Haworth Primary spokesman said: "It was a lively and engaging performance. Earl and the band really enjoyed interacting with the children who responded enthusiastically.

"They all took part in a jam session, singing, dancing, clapping and foot tapping along to the music, creating a real buzz in the hall.

"It was a fantastic afternoon thanks to a very talented band who made their music accessible to our children.

"The pupils are now busy writing reviews to enter a competition to win a CD of the band's music."
