NEW buddies have completed their training at Keighley's Oakbank School.
The 22 year-seven students will work with pupils starting at the Oakworth Road school in September and support them in their first year.
The buddies took part in four weeks of training with year-seven progress manager Linda Tomlinson-Askham and progress mentor Alison Bogle.
Each student had to write an application letter and complete homework.
Hannah Borkala, Oakbank's marketing and event officer, said: "The students worked very hard over four weeks, thinking about how they felt when they started in September and what their fears and concerns were.
"This will help them when they start their role as buddies."
Students were rewarded for their hard work with a breakfast with headteacher David Maxwell.
