YOUNGSTERS from a Keighley school's nursery class were given a guided tour of a supermarket.
The 16 children from Parkwood Primary – together with nine teachers and helpers – were shown around the Sainsbury's store in Cavendish Street, Keighley.
They learned about food produced by farmers and visited the fruit and vegetable, meat and dairy sections, where questions were asked about different types of crop and which meat came from which animal.
Other parts of the building were seen including the warehouse, goods reception area and offices and the children had a spell inside one of the refrigeration units.
Afterwards, the pupils enjoyed orange juice and biscuits.
Duncan Turner, charity co-ordinator at the store, said: "It was a privilege to show the children around.
"They were well behaved and showed great interest in the foods produced by our farmers."
