PARKSIDE School students are teaching sports to children in nearby Cullingworth Primary School.
The year 10 students are working towards their level one qualification with Sports Leaders UK.
PE teacher Emma Challinor said that within a fortnight of starting the students were capable and willing to coach the younger children.
She said: “The leaders have shown excellent qualities so far, taking activities such as Dinosaur Eggs, The Hoop Game and Dragons and Snatchers.
“We have some superb sports leaders who look to pass the Sports Leaders UK qualification, giving them the experience they need to improve life skills through sports leadership.
“Sports leadership qualifications fit easily into the national curriculum and help young people to become more qualified, experienced, employable, community minded, ambitious and active.
“Our current sports leaders set a fantastic example to the Cullingworth Primary students and have made me very proud in the last few weeks.”
