STEETON youngsters cracked the equation for success in an inter-school maths challenge.
A team of pupils from years three and four at the village primary came out tops in the contest, at South Craven School, Cross Hills.
They competed against other primary schools over four rounds in activities including a maths trail, problem solving and an ICT/mathematics challenge using iPads.
In the final round, pupils had to successfully answer questions to collect triangle tokens, which they then used to form a large hexagon puzzle.
Mrs Wendy Hardcastle, maths co-ordinator at Steeton Primary School, said: "It was a fantastic learning opportunity for the children to be able to use their maths skills to solve the challenges and to meet and compete with pupils from other local schools."
