SIXTY children in years one and two at Sutton Community Primary School impressed audiences with a production of Noah.

Year one teacher Susie Newton wrote the show, which promised 'a bit of a twist', and she produced it with year two teacher Annabel Robinson.

"That twist proved to be a fantastic blend of songs, old and new, presented by our very own DJ ‘Heavenly Hank’," said headteacher Fiona Beetles. "The old songs had the grown ups in the audiences singing along whilst the new songs were written especially for the show."

Mrs Beetles said "every member of the cast was word perfect and spoke their lines loudly and proudly".

"As the Ark loaded two by two we heard the thoughts, hopes and fears of the animals," said Mrs Beetles. "There were elephants who were worried about water, owls concerned about leaving their books behind and snakes who were irritated by the buzzing of the bees! The bees wondered if there would be any flowers left, whilst a last minute pair of penguins were constantly asking, ‘Are we there yet'?"

"A particular delight of the show was the fine singing by the children. Well done year one and year two, and thanks to our amazing staff and supportive parents who practised lines and assembled an ark full of costumes."
