CHILDREN due to begin studies at Parkside School in September have made preliminary visits to the campus.
The Cullingworth secondary school welcomed new students and their parents for a transition evening
The evening started with a talk in the school hall from the headteacher, Andrew Taylor, and the rest of the Senior Leadership Team.
Current Year 7 students modelled PE kit and school uniform and were available to talk to any of the new students if they had any questions.
The Parkside Parents Association had a stall selling nearly new uniform, with all proceeds going to the School Reward Fund.
The evening was followed up by a full-day visit by year six students to Parkside to spend time getting to know each other in their tutor groups.
They took part in lessons and sporting activities, and after lunch watched a concert by existing Parkside students.
Following a final address by staff in the hall the children were accompanied on a walk from the school to the top of Parkside Terrace to meet their parents.
A school spokesman said: βItβs safe to say a good day was had by all, and we are looking forward to seeing them again in September.β
