A COMMUNITY has rallied round in support of a Keighley school whose garden was destroyed by young vandals.
St Andrew's CE Primary received a £100 donation from Control Technology, in Devonshire Street, Keighley.
And the school has been contacted by Keighley Festival president Malcolm Hanson, inviting pupils to write to the event's mascots Mr Happycat and Dolly about a contribution.
Homebase is also offering help and year-three children are writing to other businesses in the area.
"We have had some very generous responses following the incident," said the school's business manager, Gill Higham.
"Some year-three parents have also kindly donated pots for the garden.
"We are very grateful."
Yobs as young as seven scaled a fence to gain access to the garden area earlier this month and wreaked havoc.
They smashed terracotta pots, dug up plants and ripped down bee boxes.
The prized plot at the Lustre Street school is used mainly by foundation stage pupils.
