FACILITIES at a Keighley primary school have been give a major boost during the summer holidays.

The work has "transformed" the nursery and reception at Riddlesden St Mary’s School.

Extensive building work has taken place and staff were on hand to make sure the early years provision was in great shape for when the children returned.

The latest improvements will benefit up to 100 youngsters in the school's nursery and reception classes.

Vicky Clay, head of early years at Riddlesden St Mary's, said: "The new learning space and provision make learning through play for the children an enjoyable and exciting experience."

A school spokesman said: "Nursery and reception now looks really open, bright and airy. The pupils absolutely love it."

The school was due to host an open day and Macmillan coffee morning event yesterday.

Parents and children were also invited to look around the school, and its revamped nursery and reception.
