YOUNG girls from a school in Silsden will stage a charity coffee morning next month.

The group of seven year five pupils from Hothfield Junior School will hold the event in St James's Church Hall, Silsden, on November 7.

This event will include a raffle, tombola, and cakes along with name the teddy and how many sweets in the jar competitions.

Proceeds from the occasion – which will also include gift stalls for early Christmas shopping – will go towards Manorlands Hospice.

The idea to hold the coffee morning came from nine-year-old Hothfield Junior pupil Daisy van Suilichem.

Her mum, Katy van Suilichem, explained that Daisy recently organised the selling of raffle tickets for a Macmillan coffee morning, and asked if she could arrange a coffee morning herself.

She said: "I agreed to it and Daisy got her friends from school involved. The children have been doing posters for the event and asking people to bring in tombola prizes.

"I'm very pleased that Daisy has wanted to do this. She is always very good at organising things."

Alongside Daisy, the girls arranging the coffee morning are: Holly Rosser, Kaye Fenton, Lucie Gill, Isabel Crabtree, Sophie Hill and Lucie Ireland.

The fundraiser will run from 9am till midday.
