SIXTH form students at Parkside School have been successful in this year’s UKMT Senior Maths Challenge.

Arran Greenwood, Cameron Allatt, Rajan Sohal and Kirra Coates achieved run certificates in the national maths competition.

More than 82,000 pupils across the UK into the challenge.

The next intermediate maths challenge, aimed at students in years nine, 10 and 11, will take place in February 4.

In last year’s UKMT challenge, Parkside student Chloe Carr received a gold award and went on to reach the top 25 per cent of achievers in the UK.

More than 80 per cent of post-16 students at Parkside has now submitted their university applications.

A school spokesman said: “Offers have been coming through thick and fast.

She said: “Several students are in the enviable position of having received ‘unconditional offers’ meaning that their place is guaranteed whatever their grades.

“We have 18 students with conditional offers from Russell Group universities and one student invited to interview at Cambridge for maths.”
