A SMALL group of senior Keighley students have put on a pair of theatrical performances at their school.

The four pupils at Holy Family Catholic School impressed their audience at different locations in the school while staging interpretations of two texts – Find Me and Metamorphosis.

Find Me tells the true story of Verity Taylor, who suffered from an undiagnosed mental disorder for years, before being locked up in Broadmoor. Verity’s illness has a destructive impact on her family, who struggle to cope with her behaviour.

Metamorphosis, is a classic novella by Franz Kafka, about a man called Gregor Samsa who wakes to find himself transformed into a monstrous insect-like creature. The work deals with Gregor's attempts to adjust to his condition and his family's horror at what he has become.

A Holy Family spokesman said: "The sixth form drama and theatre studies students colonised areas of the school to perform short interpretations of Find Me and Metamorphosis as part of their AS studies.

"These works are two contrasting texts which both look at family dynamics and isolation.

"The actors were Courtney Cullwick, Maryam Jabeen, Rebecca Miller and Amy Tough.

"They composed the two pieces from the texts they've been studying and took on multiple roles. Their audience was shepherded around the various venues for the performances, which were chosen in order to enhance the storylines."
