STUDENTS at a Keighley school have gone to the polls.
University Academy Keighley pupils cast their votes to elect members of the student leadership team.
Each candidate produced a manifesto, appointed a campaign team, created promotional materials and even delivered a political broadcast.
"The challenge brought democracy to the heart of UAK – as students put themselves forward to be on the leadership team representing their community," said a school spokesman.
"The whole academy – students and staff – were then involved in the voting process."
Community challenges at UAK so far this year have also covered the subject of identity.
"The students have spent time developing a sense of identity – of themselves, each other and staff – and have developed an appreciation of their place within the academy," added the spokesman.
"Each tutor group produced a pledge, based on their own goals, which will remind them of what they need to do for a successful year. They also designed a logo and group name."
