ENTREPRENEURIAL students offered curry, pizza and overflowing chocolate during in the Enterprise Bazaar at University Academy Keighley.

The event was the brainchild of teenagers working towards their OCR Cambridge National exam.

This were undertaking a unit called ‘planning and running an enterprise’, and had to offer products or services to their fellow students.

The OCR groups took responsibility for the planning, implementing and running of the event, setting up stalls in the auditorium and giving each year group 30 minutes’ free time to get involved.

Exciting options included a curry parlour, pizza stalls, cakes, sweets, and a chocolate fountain.

Year 13 students taking the Double Award in Business, who were also required to stage an event, held a Dine and Donate evening.

The ticket-only event involved the students cooking and serving a variety of prepared dishes in a pop-up restaurant.

Guests were told about the work of In-touch Foundation, with former students returning to talk about their volunteer work with the charity.

School spokesman Shirley Cooke said: “Our students learned a lot of valuable skills in event planning, working with outside agencies such as suppliers, time management, organisation, and sales experience.

Both events raised a total of £526 for In-touch Foundation.
