YEAR five pupils at Cowling Community Primary School had fun with French - thanks to a puppet-making workshop with artist Diana Bayliss.
Children practised their language skills while creating puppets and then watched a performance delivered entirely in French.
The show told the story of Lola, a French girl who found herself in a town where everyone spoke English and she was struggling to make herself understood. Listening carefully pupils were able to identify key vocabulary, understand the plot and help Lola on her journey.
Headteacher Sue Marshall said: “Diana made learning French fun. She was able to cleverly weave all the vocabulary our pupils have been learning into the puppet show which helped the children see the language they have been learning in context.”
