KEIGHLEY-district children will be among about 800 pupils taking part in an annual extravaganza later this month.

Youngsters are preparing for the Schools' Prom at St George's Hall, Bradford, on March 23 and 24.

The event, now in its 15th year, is staged by Bradford Council's Music and Arts Service.

There will be dance, music and drama performances over two nights.

The Prom marks the culmination of months of hard work by pupils and staff at the different schools involved.

Among those taking part in the chorus are St Joseph's, Ingrow, and Victoria Primary in Keighley on the Wednesday, and Laycock, Long Lee and Stanbury primaries on the Thursday.

Also, East Morton Primary will be part of a massed Key Stage Two percussion on the first night.

Last year's event drew large audiences and included winners of the Lady Mayoress' Festival of Talent competition.

"The Schools' Prom is always a popular event and the two concerts will give around 800 pupils the opportunity to perform in a prestigious venue for their friends and families, showcasing their skills and talent," said a spokesman.
