A KEIGHLEY headteacher was among the speakers at an event in Bradford.

John Devlin, executive head of Our Lady of Victories and St Joseph's Catholic Primary, addressed the eighth Bradford Mobile Learning conference.

Last Thursday's (Mar 10) event, at the Life Centre, focused on how technology could be used to improve education.

There were workshops about mobile learning and sharing best practice and the use of technology to raise attainment and engagement across the curriculum.

It was attended by primary school staff from throughout the district.

Paul Scott, Bradford Council's curriculum innovation service manager, said: "We were delighted that one of our keynote speakers was a headteacher from our district.

"Mr Devlin shared the adventures which children in his two schools are having using the media of radio, TV and online journalism."

Other speakers included Rachel Orr, headteacher at a Stockton primary school, who outlined how her school embraced technology to make an impact on learning.

Councillor Susan Hinchcliffe, the council's executive member for education, skills and culture, said: "Today technology is an integral element to learning.

"This was an excellent opportunity for school staff and leaders to learn about some new technologies now available and how these can be incorporated successfully into their own school curriculum."
