EASTBURN youngsters had a rail treat to celebrate World Book Day.
Ten pupils from the village's junior & infant school joined children from two other Bradford-district schools for a trip on 'The Story Train'.
They were met at Bradford Interchange by Lord Mayor Councillor Joanne Dodds, who presented each of them with a free book.
The group then enjoyed a rail journey, with authors Mike Pannett and Irene Lofthouse.
On board, the youngsters listened to stories and took part in a creative writing competition, won by Eastburn pupils Callum Driver and Caitlin Tate
"All the children had a fantastic day and were inspired to continue reading and writing back at school," said a spokesman.
In school, pupils dressed as their favourite book characters.
Each made a donation and £155 was raised, towards new books.
Also, parents were invited into school to read to the pupils and hear them read and to talk about their own favourite books.
