LEARNING took on a Scottish flavour for pupils at Eastburn Junior and Infant School.
Making traditional shortbread and origami Scottie dogs, weaving tartan and identifying key places north of the border were among the highlights of a special day of activities for class-two youngsters.
They also donned tartan or came to school dressed as characters from the Katie Morag stories.
Pupils had been reading the popular books by Mairi Hedderwick.
They feature Katie, who lives with her family on the fictional Scottish island of Struay – based on the real Isle of Coll.
Pupils also learned the Alloway Kirk Rant, a dance which they then performed for the rest of the school.
A class spokesman said: "The children had a thoroughly enjoyable day and their behaviour was exemplary."
