POET John Siddique spent a day at Riddlesden St Mary's Primary School.
He performed some of his work in an assembly and then staged a series of workshops, in which Key Stage Two pupils created their own poems.
"John gave an amazing performance and enabled the children to experience the music and language of his work," said a school spokesman.
Pupils have also taken part in a musical performance at Manchester Arena.
Fifteen children from the school choir joined more than 7,000 other youngsters in a Young Voices performance.
