STUDENTS at University Academy Keighley (UAK) are fostering a love of creative writing and performance.
As part of the National Literacy Trust initiative, year-seven pupils explored the poetry genre, as well as writing skills and performance poetry techniques.
And Bradford-based musician Beccy Owen helped the students perform and record their own writings, using rap and body percussion.
The results will be set to a backing track by Beccy, for a souvenir CD.
UAK English teacher Farhat Alam said: "I am amazed with how well the students responded to the workshop.
"The work they produced was brilliant – it's heartfelt, joyous and a little bit wacky and really represents the individuals involved.
"Many thanks go to Imran Hafeez who co-ordinated the project."
