A MATHS co-ordinator from Australia has visited Parkside School in Cullingworth as part of a global research project.
Stephen Chapman – from O'Connor Catholic College, Armidale – is undertaking a world tour studying how financial literacy is delivered in schools.
His high-profile project has also included meetings with education chiefs from across the continent.
So far, Mr Chapman has visited locations including Rome, Zurich, Paris and Amsterdam.
The trip has been funded through the prestigious New South Wales Premier's Teacher Scholarship.
While at Parkside, he met staff who lead and deliver financial literacy in maths, economics and the Key Stage 3 PSHCE programme.
Deputy headteacher Matt Barratt, who organised the visit, said: "Stephen was impressed with both the passion and commitment of the staff at Parkside, along with the provision and delivery of financial literacy within the curriculum."
Following his Parkside visit, Mr Chapman was heading to London, Washington DC and Calgary before returning to New South Wales via Perth and Brisbane.
