AN ANNUAL outdoor forest school conference takes place at Wilsden later this month.

Forestfest – being staged at Blackhills Scout campsite, Lee Lane, on June 18 and 19 – will bring together educators to share their knowledge and experiences.

The event is mainly aimed at people working within the early years and primary school sectors and with young adults.

Now in its fourth year, the conference is organised by Bradford Community Environment Projects.

"The conferences have always been very well attended," said a spokesman.

"It is an opportunity for forest school leaders, outdoor education and play workers and other like-minded people to come together and enjoy two days in the woodlands, be inspired and learn new skills.

"There is also the option of camping – you can enjoy sitting around the campfire, swapping stories, practicing new games and networking."

On the Saturday, a keynote speaker will talk about their work and there will be workshops run by experienced practitioners.

Past workshops have covered subjects ranging from bush craft skills and foraging to music and storytelling.

Lunch and an evening meal, using locally-sourced food, will be provided.

After breakfast the following day, people will be able to practice what they have learned and share ideas.
