PARKSIDE School’s maths department recently celebrated Perfect Number Day.

The maths corridor at the Cullingworth school was decorated and there were lots of activities throughout the day, including a treasure hunt at break time.

All the students work from Perfect Number Day was subsequently displayed in the maths corridor.

As part of the event Parkside’s maths teachers told pupils that perfect numbers would “blow your mind and your calculator”.

In number theory, a ‘perfect number’ is a number that is equal to the sum of the numbers it can be divided by.

The first perfect numbers are six, 88, 496 and 8128.
