PARKSIDE School students braved heavy rain to reach the finish line during an inter-school athletics tournament.
The Cullingworth school’s intermediate girls athletic squad came second in the first round of the English Schools Athletics national competition held at Thornes Park Stadium in Wakefield
This meant the girls qualified for the regional final, and the teacher Helen May Hall said that despite “monsoon conditions” the girls performed brilliantly to finish in fifth place overall.
The team consisted of Bobby Humphries, Georgia Crabtree, Katie Martin, Louisa Yeates, Chloe Burbidge, Niamh Cater, Natalia Karkoszka, Eleanor Thomas, Eliza Findlay, Erin Dark, Jessica Dyer and Megan Clayton.
