SENIORS in Cullingworth proved good sports when two students tried out their skills.
Parkside School students Josh Bingham and Paul Mercer visited the Cullingworth Over 60s Club as part of their Sports Leaders course.
They ran a session of chair aerobics with the members, demonstrating exercise appropriate for the elderly.
Sixth form progress leader Phil Logan said: “The boys did a brilliant job. They were funny, caring and sensitive to the needs and limits of the people they were working with.”
Parkside School’s sixth form has close links with the Over-60s Club, taking on its running after it was threatened with closure after 50 years.
Pupils volunteer their time every week to help run sessions.
School students also prepare a buffet lunch for elderly Cullingworth residents every Easter in the village, and have also invited pensioners to the school for events like tea parties.
