CELEBRITIES from The Great British Bake Off may be deserting their posts but our own baking hero is still on the job.

Baker Mike is continuing his popular visits to local schools and began the autumn term with a trip to Haworth Primary School.

Mike Armstrong, the master Baker at Keighley’s Sainsbury’s store, spent an afternoon with pupils including Isabella Curtis, Mary Jane Jones, Alfie Court, Daniel Gummery

Mike, who was not completed its 50th baking column for Keighley News, was invited to work with pupils by the school’s Food leader Tracy Roe.

She said: “they had an amazing afternoon learning about the history of bread and the children thoroughly enjoyed the experience and practical hands on workshop.

“We are very grateful to Sainsburys for allowing Mike to come up to lead this session with the children.”

The baking session linked with the school’s Food For Life work.
