STUDENTS from Parkside School in Cullingworth went to London to learn about the Blitz.
The 30 year 10 history students carried out research at the Imperial War Museum.
The “enjoyable and interesting” visit allowed students to gather information about the capital during the Second World War, why London was a target, and how Londoners prepared for the Blitz.
History teacher Lindsey Rushworth said “Students looked around the First World War exhibition with great interest, especially the shrunken leather glove showing the effects of poison gas in the trenches.
“The students were impeccably behaved and a credit to Parkside School.”
The Imperial War Museum tells the stories of people’s experiences of modern war from the First World War to conflicts today.
The Parkside students visited a display that told how ordinary people braved the challenges of life at home during the Second World War through the eyes of the Allpress family, who lived in Stockwell, London.
