GLUSBURN Primary School’s choir led a singalong as part of an event to raise £195 for cancer support charity Macmillan.

The school hosted its annual Macmillan coffee morning and harvest festival.

Following their presentation in school the choir supported other Macmillan events in Glusburn by performing for residents and staff at Sunnybank and Townend Anchor Housing. They were treated to cake and drinks.

A school spokesman said: “This was a great community occasion, bringing the old and young together for an extremely worthy cause.

“The residents and staff were extremely welcoming and the children really enjoyed the occasion and were a credit to the school.”

The school plans to work with Anchor Housing again, and already has ideas for Christmas events and recruiting ‘reading buddies’.

Harvest produce collected during the event was donated to Skipton Foodbank and the Salvation Army.

The school wanted to thank all volunteers and visitors who supported the Macmillan event.
