A PROLIFIC life insurance salesman and co-founder of the London Comedy Store has visited a Cross Hills school.

Peter Rosengard spoke to South Craven sixth-formers about his experiences and pursuit of goals.

His comedy co-creation helped launch the careers of many stars including French & Saunders, Rik Mayall and Adrian Edmonson.

In the insurance industry, he is ranked among the most successful salesmen.

He has an entry in the Guinness World Records book for selling the world's largest life insurance policy – worth $100 million, to music industry boss David Geffen.

More recently, he has helped set-up a 9/11 education programme and is campaigning for a monument to British victims of the terrorist atrocity.

Mr Rosengard visited South Craven as part of the Speaker for Schools initiative, which provides free talks to secondary schools and colleges by inspirational figures.

"We were thrilled to host Peter," said a school spokesman.

"He spent an afternoon delivering a humorous talk to the entire sixth form.

"One of his parting shots was to advise the students to 'reach for the stars because even if you fail, you land on the moon!'.

"Peter then held a question-and-answer session and even took time to talk to a few students on a one-to-one basis."
