PUPILS from three schools took part in a question-and-answer session with Keighley MP Kris Hopkins.
Students quizzed the MP on a range of issues, including votes for 16-year-olds, the US presidential election, EU referendum and education.
The event, involving youngsters from Holy Family and Beckfoot Oakbank in Keighley and Ilkley Grammar, was held at the constituency office to mark UK Parliament Week.
Mr Hopkins, a Northern Ireland Office minister, said: "I was delighted to meet with the pupils to discuss democracy and the role of Parliament.
"They asked very thoughtful and challenging questions and gave me quite a grilling!
"I welcomed the opportunity to provide a bit of an insight into what MPs do and I hope the young people I met will take this knowledge back to their peers."
Damian Moore, deputy headteacher at Holy Family, said his students enjoyed taking part.
He added: "They are involved in questioning and debating at school as part of the school council, so this was a real opportunity for them to participate in putting questions to their elected representative in Parliament."
Mr Hopkins says any schools interested in a visit, or wishing to discover more about resources available through Parliament's education service, can contact his office on 01535 211152.
