Trevor Hudson has stepped down as caretaker at The Holy Family Catholic School.

A spokesman for the school said Mr Hudson had completed many years of service at Holy Family.

He added: "His colleagues thoughtfully provided Trevor with a Zimmer frame, along with other gifts to ease his way into his new routine!"

Martin Hings, who is head teacher at Holy Family, added: “We are immensely grateful for everything that Trevor has contributed to the school during his time with us.

"Time after time his knowledge, experience and skills have been brought to bear on a problem, and he leaves behind lasting marks of his legacy to the school in the work that he has done.”
