CARING pupils at Kildwick Primary School have done their bit to support refugees forced to flee for their lives.
The youngsters were so moved by the ongoing plight of the refugees, they wanted to do something to help.
After charity Yorkshire Aid was contacted, pupils put together so-called SNUG packs – containing items such as hats, scarves, gloves, torches, socks and underwear – to help the refugees through the winter.
Class teacher and SMSC (spiritual, moral, social and cultural) co-ordinator Ruth Sharples said: "We had a fantastic response and the children have learned a lot about the lives of others, who for lots of reasons have had to leave their homes to find a safe shelter.
"Thanks must go to our parents who took this project on board."
