GRANT aid could be on the menu for Keighley-district schools.

Cereal giant Kellogg's is celebrating 20 years of championing breakfast clubs by offering £1,000 cash awards.

The company is giving away a grant for every school day of the year.

Since it was launched, the breakfast club programme has provided £3 million of investment and 70 million bowls of cereal to schools.

There are currently 3,000 schools signed-up.

Kate Prince, for Kellogg's, said: "We believe all children should have the opportunity to start the day with breakfast and we're proud to have spent 20 years supporting so many schools.

"Research shows that breakfast clubs help with everything from attendance and attainment to alleviating hunger and providing pre-school care.

"The £1,000 grants we're offering underpin our pride and continuing commitment to the programme."
