Manorlands has launched a major new initiative that will see it forge a pioneering partnership with the district’s business community.

The Oxenhope Sue Ryder hospice is inviting firms across the area to sign up to the new Manorlands Business Club.

Membership is open to businesses of any size for a minimum monthly donation of £40 or an annual payment of £480.

“We receive a lot of support from local businesses – for which we are extremely grateful – but we know there are smaller companies keen to help that can’t make massive donations or enter teams in fundraising events,” said Hannah Taylor, Sue Ryder regional fundraising manager.

“The club is a very easy and efficient way for them to demonstrate their support, which will enable us to continue to grow our services and be there for more local families that need our help.”

Members will receive a special logo, which they can use on letterheads, their website and in other materials.

They will also be given a certificate, which could be displayed with the logo on their premises, as well as regular updates from the hospice.

“We are very excited about this venture,” added Mrs Taylor.

“Not only will it help us to maintain our vital services, but it’s an excellent opportunity for businesses to show their customers and suppliers etc that they are committed to supporting Manorlands and the local community.

“We know the community is extremely loyal to us, and I would hope customers would be pleased the business they use is supporting Manorlands.”

The Keighley News, which has just completed a massively successful year-long appeal with the hospice to raise £1.1 million to help fund its invaluable provision, is the first business to sign up to the club.

“We have worked extremely closely with Manorlands during the past 12 months, and the appeal demonstrated – were proof needed – what incredible work is carried out by the hospice team and the high regard in which it is held by everyone,” said editor, Richard Parker, who ran the London Marathon this year to help boost the charity’s coffers.

“We are delighted and honoured to be the first member of the business club, and would urge other businesses to sign up.

“The response to the appeal was phenomenal, but Manorlands’ need for funds continues.”
