A "FANTASTIC" night of entertainment raised £1,200 for a fundraising campaign for an Oakworth girl.

The evening at Pennington's Octagon Live, in Sandbeds, featured 10 singers, including former Emmerdale actress Malandra Burrows and Pop Idol competitor Danny Tetley.

The occasion also included a raffle, an auction and a tombola. The proceeds have done towards the Nicole's Wish to Walk appeal, in aid of two-year-old Nicole Vendettuoli.

Nicole's family are aiming to raise at least £70,000 to send her to St Louis, in the United States, for treatment.

Commenting on the Octagon Live event, Nicole's mum Candice said: "It was absolutely brilliant, the place was packed.

"The campaign is going really well. At the last count we had £21,000 to £22,000."

Nicole was born three months premature and had a brain haemorrhage, which led to her suffering cerebral palsy. Her left arm and both her legs are stiff, making sitting, crawling and walking impossible.
