A KEIGHLEY group has presented a £1,400 cheque to Manorlands after a year of fundraising for the Oxenhope Sue Ryder hospice.

Ladies 2000 – which meets at Keighley Catholic Centre – staged a range of activities, including a garden party at Denholme and a Christmas raffle.

The money was handed over at the group's annual general meeting.

Hayley Ibbotson, a senior fundraiser at Manorlands, said: "Having the support of the local community and groups like Ladies 2000 is very important to us.

"We need to raise £5,000 every day just to stay open, so we are always very grateful for any support we receive from the public.

"I’d like to thank the members of Ladies 2000 for their wonderful donation and for all the fundraising they have done on our behalf throughout the year."

The group is seeking new members. Contact committee member Pauline O’Hara on 01274 833322 for further information.
