RADIOGRAPHERS at Airedale Hospital could take part in industrial action.
Members of the Society of Radiographers (SoR), which has representation at Airedale, were balloted over a continuing pay freeze.
Over 53 per cent said they were prepared to take part in a walkout, while 78.9 per cent voted for industrial action short of a strike.
"It is very unusual for radiographers to vote for industrial action – this shows the anger they feel," said Richard Evans, for the SoR.
"Working people in the NHS have had to accept decreasing standards of living for long enough. Pay has been eroded by inflation and the government year-after-year has refused even the smallest of increases.
"In real terms, radiographers and many millions of others who work in the NHS have taken a pay cut and there is no increase planned for next year either."
The SoR's UK council was meeting yesterday (Oct 8) to discuss the ballot result.
